i read the papers yesterday. it about this guy, apparently an accomplished panist, who escape national service.

he came back because his parents are old and they can't travel so far to see him often.

so, he decide to come back to visit them.

for all the running away, and not doing his national service, he was fine a mere $5,000. because he is a accomplish.....?

what a joke! i must say a damm good joke.

throw him in jail i say. make him do his national service for 5 years as a clerk if he is too old to run and fight!

as a writer in the newspaper forum right put it, is our effort to do our part as a singaporean worth only $5000?

i think maybe, cause my pay for the 2 and half years i serve in my doing national service is less than $5000.
