i was in mass last saturday. it was palm sunday.

as in catholic tradition, everyone will get a palm from the wardens as they are the one delicated to distriuted the palms for the congregation.

it was a day of celebration. jesus is coming to town...and we are to welcome him with all our hearts and souls.

but very very unlike singaporeans, we dont ask for the biggest palm, you only hear people asking for "can i have a smaller palm"....humble.....????

mind you, it;s not that they are humble...its more of a convinience. big ones are harder to carry and bring it home.

BUT, they want the BIGGEST drop of holy water to fall on them when the priest goes round the church to bless the palms. they want the BIGGEST blessing from the man up there..nothing less or small!!!

they asked for the BIGGEST favor from God but do the smallest of small things for God.

so are they ashame to be associated with Jesus?

Ironically, on palm sunday, we also have the passion reading. here we read and remember the sufferings of jesus...the denial, the betrayal and then cruxifion.... and finally death..death on the cross

so are we too ashame to carry a big palm and be associated with jesus? are we denying jesus?

jesus will be feeling betrayed again....

hmmmm...i wonder.....

another uselss thought.
