i cant help but think of the last election that we had, a few weeks ago.

as ususal the ruling party won again, although i don't really agree that it was a landslide victory, and i also dont agree that there is a strong mandate for the prime minister.

what is dangerous is the 40% the opposition got from voters.

singaporeans keep saying they want an opposition in parliament, but when it comes to the crunch...what are the opposition offerring to the people?

some opposition do funny things like hunger strike, childish protest, publish unsubstatiated "facts"...wanting civil disobidence as a way to win voters.... goes overseas to discredit the ggovernment and the country.

can singapore, a country that only have people as their resources go on strike every other week?

can a economy so dependent on external factors sustain protests and strikes every other week?

the opposition say cost of lving is high... doh..... this we all know!

opposition...listen to this;

what i want to know is, what are the steps you will be taking if you become government, or what are your great plans to make cost of living lower?

what are your plans to keep transport cost down?

what are you going to do about high unemployment?

what are you doing to help the elderly?

what are you doing to keep singapore on the competitive edge with the world?

many elections have come and gone...these issues keep coming up, but never once did i hear them showing facts and figures and real action or concrete steps to debate these issues with the government. bring them to task! question them, offer solutions....

have you? nope...never once. i guess they are not going to do anything, and by that i take it that they agree with and go along with what the government is already doing.

do i need an opposition?

i don't need an opposition for the sake of having a opposition in parliament. what is the point when they are a toothless tiger? pee in their pants when the government throw them a challenge?

another useless opposition...i mean thought!
