i have no doubt about the capabilities of the singapore governement and our MPs.
but i honestly think that they should one day, try on their own, without the sidekicks and supporters, do a walkabout in their respective areas and take a bus or hail for a cab. see for themselves the real people living day to day. take the public transport and see and feel for themselves whats its like to go to and from work everyday. what is it like to live in a 'typhoon' hit estate...where the area are filled with litters (i mean i dont blame them for this, cos its the real people living there that cos all these mess), but it is real, and not the wrong image that his sidekick and supporters try to feed him with.
take a bus during peak hour and feel what it is like cramped in a stinky hot (althought most buses here are air-conditioned) buses.....
stay in one of the HDB blocks and feel what its like to be living with real people. talk to the people minus the sidekicks.
there are real people with real problems. there are people who cannot afford a decent meal. there are people who cannot pay their bills. there are people who cannot find work. there are children too poor to o to school. there are lonely old folks who could have die and no one will know until they decompose.
go, see the real people in singapore. maybe that will keep them in touch with reality and what singapore really need.
i felt that they missed out and lost touch with oridnary singpaoreans when they go about their rounds in the estate, cos their sidekicks and supporters would have done most of the leg work for him or her. what they have seen is only the best.
i think the best example is during the election. my MP came to my house the shake my hand and ask me to vote for him. 10 mins before his arrival, his supported have already came to my hosue to tell me that he is coming and get ready.
GET READY FOR WHAT? wash my hands before shaking his hand?
another useless tought.
