i was once told that it is good that opposition are coming up with good quality candidates.

when i ask one simple question "so will you join the opposition". the answer was faster than superman changing to his red undies in the phone booth - "NO!"

let other people do the shit first, then when the environment is more conducive, then they will join the opposition.

my question is, if everyone thinks like that, wait for conducive environment...then where do we even begin with an opposition?

another question i have is, if you wait for the right environment, then you are NOT suited to be a politician.cos you are a 'chicken" you dare not take up the challenge. you are not a fighter. you are a follower NOT a leader.

leaders are top notch and front line thinkers. often out of the box. risk takers. and more importantly, they have a "never say die" attitude.

imagine mr lee kwan yew say this 40 years ago, there will be no singapore today. back then, the environment is many times worst then today. people get killed then. it was more violent. it was uncertain. it was just dangerous.

you and i will not be discussing this if LKY adopt a wait and see attitude. we will still be living in attap house, drinking from the well and will still be a fishing country earning less than US 50 cents per day!
