i was watching the world cup yesterday.

england was all fired up and WIN the world cup...all the hype and talk of this being the team for england to bring abck the world cup..... and so we all thought.

i almost fell asleep after the first and only goal of the match. out of a sudden... i jump up from my near sleep, and i ran towards the toilet, cos i needed to take a leak. that was the only excitment i got after the first goal...... sigh..... i will NEVER see england lift the world cup in my life time.

as i was in the loo, i was thinkiing of singapore making it to the world cup. that was our goal 2010! if anyone of us here are old enough to remember the target set - singpaore to be IN the world cup by 2010.

will it be possible in the next 4 years?

a country as small as Trinidad & Tobago About Tobago an area of 300 sq. km. 16 miles long and seven miles wide with a population of just 54,084 (Census 2000) can get themselves into the world cup....why can't we?

technically we have about 3 million people excluding all the other "imports"... why are we not winning, why are we not getting any better? our football is even harder to predict that the tusnami. sometimes its good, sometimes its bad, BUT most most of the time we are BAD....big time.

we win on asian cup and we make a big deal out of it.....then it was downhill alllllllll the way......

it is the players? is it our national coach? is it the people who manage it? what is it?

i know exactly what is the problem..but i think i better not mention it here. i will get into serious shit.

so, the story here is....i will not see england lift the world cup in my lifetime...and i.... sorry i think it should be we will not see singpaore go to the world cup for many generations to come. that is a fact.

i will just carry on to be a carefree dog.... enjoy my jazz music and the world cup for now.
