is gambling such a bad thing?

its the world cup season..... millions...if not billions of dollars change hands daily.

some will make it big, some will lose everything if not their lives.

i bet on the world cup matches....its was bad.

even before the ball was kicked...i lost $15. cos i ned to subscribe to the football channel, which i must add, i am unhappy that we have to pay for it. this is simply because, there is only one cable TV player in the market. and they win...EVERYTIME. its monopoly. if not for my dad...who suggested that i subscribe...i would not have done it. he seldom ask me for anything..... so as a good son (i think i am a good son)....i have to do it.

then it was kick off, 9pm singapore time....germany versus costa rica.

the situation was tense. i put in a lot of money..... i know germany is the hot favourite to win the game, but i dont want them to win, so i bet on costa rica to win.....

for 90mins....my heart pounded...... hoping aganist hope....but it was fading faster than i can imagine.

my hard earn money...down the drain. i was upset. germany won. and so there goes my S$5.

total lost to date $15 + $5 = $20

sigh....

and so i try my luck again. this time, ukarine and spain. every single bookie in the world say spain will be.

we went for lunch near a betting station (not on purpose) jsut happen that we went there to eat.

and so the question arise: if you walk past a betting station and not bet, is is a sin?

of course. so we all went in and do our charity. here in singpaore, singapore pools is the biggest donars to charity! and being a beagle, sturbon as we are, we have to react the opposite way. again i bet big for ukarain to win...my life savings!

and so it was kick off..... when i got home, the soce was already 3-0 to spain.

i threw away my ticket. it was simply hopeless.....

final score 4-0 to spain.

and so i lost bigger this time. another $5 down the drain

$15 + 5 + 5 = $25

its becoming addicitve!

i wanted to bet on engalnd to win next, but we were too lazy to walk the distance to bet..... engalnd won...and i lost..cos i did not bet! damm it!

with the integrated resort aka casino opening in singapore in about 3 years time, i think it will be a big problem here if measures are not taken. many will find themselve in the situation where they cannot control themselves. it will not just themselves suffering, but also their families.

i wanted to recoup my lost. its just frustratng that i cannot win so much cos my bet was small. so small that people will die laughing. its a joke!

a friend suggested that i bet more to win back. but a sturbon dog like me simply refuse to bet any bigger that $5. i have character! hahha.... i really dont want to lose any more.

it was a tempation i could not resist. its like durain...my fav..... i betted. its bad. so another $5 was place for me. i just hand the money over. my last i guess..... maybe not......

as of today i am a proud loser of $1.65. down form $25! i can take that.

its addicitve. dont be a nike. don't do it.

now...how do i win back my $1.65 and more........ woof!

another useless thought
