the land of 4 million smiles....

i dont mean to pour cold water....but how can a nation full of stressed out people...slogging their lives just to make ends meet, manage a smile.....

i dont know. we spend more than 20 years trying to teach the citizens to be courteous in waht is now the ever famous "COURTEOUS CAMPAIGN"...so simple, just to be nice and it end up in total failure.

we ranked 5th.....from the bottom in the world in terms of being a courteous nation. how about that for a 20 year campaign!!!

so the land of 4 million smiles...... whats the big deal to have 4 million pix of us similing when in reality, we dont do it in real time.its fun to smile for the camera..you are suppose to smile for the camera, the camera will ask you to give him a smile and say cheeze.... thats not reality. its a picture.

if you are a singaporean, try getting a SIA gril to smile for you on flight. try asking her for water. u will die of thirst and the water will not arrive. it is easier to get a dying man to smile than to ask the SIA girl to smile for you... ..yah man..its a great way to fly...for the ang mo!

just like the tag that we have " a clean and green country", a "garden city"...well...green...i am ok, but clean.... thats another story. if we bring a tourist to the housing estates early in the morning, they will pass out laughing.

sigh..... a land of 4 million smiles..... maybe..... give us each a million bucks ( thats only going to cost them S$400 million) and the smile will come out naturally..... hmm.... maybe upgrading for the opposition ward..... more singapore cash bonus..... free parking in parks...... free parking in all car parks on sundays!
