retirement.

i read with a lot of interest about 2 retirees..... it was an article in the starits times on saturday.

one retired a rich man with at least $10k to his disposal every month.... but there is a hint that it is really have enough!!! the i was thinking like...what!!! not enough! waht can an old couple spend on.....

then it was revealed, they have a house...and 2 cars!!! and sometimes, they take the public transport.

some of us don't even earn that much in a month!

then there was this other retired man, he makes less than $1k every month, hardly making ends meet and will have to work till the day he stop breathing.

it makes me think about my own "retirement"...... how much do i really need when i get old and not working every month?

isn't it sad..... someone who have $10k at his disposal compare to someone with less than $1k... one lives in comfort and hints at not having enough...while the other seems contended with what he already have.

where will i fall when i retire? i sure hope i fall in between them.... maybe this will serve as a good example to the younger people. there is a lesson to be learnt here.

plan you path..... don't think that youth is everything. one day, all of us do get old. the economic landscape change faster than the speed of light, as in the words of heidi in the fashon reality show - project runway ... "one day you are in, the next day, you may be out."
