insensitive humans

we just got our new flat and moving in soon cos the renovation is almost completed...... a happy occassion...... cos its have been more than 6 months since we started our search for a new home nearer to town and our church......

some people ask us how much we got for our flat..... and after telling them.... the reaction....

"WAH!, why so expensive you also buy har??...last time flats where got so expensive one...."

can we have better convesation??

why is it always "last time"

last time policeman wear shorts, last time a bowl of noodles cost 50 cents, bus fares starts from 5 cents, cars cost less than $10k and i was young with hair then too!!!!

come on people...if we have nothing better to say, maybe we should not say anything......

by saying the flat is expensive...what does it mean? to create unhappiness and stick a thorn in my flesh??

if its concern.... then i think it maybe the wrong choice of words...... i am going to shift in soon and you are telling me its expensive??? its a willing buyer and willing seller situation...so who is to say its expensive or not?? i did not think it was so damm expensive...that is the most important.....

this is like saying "if i know, i will strike lottery".... if i know i will be so damm rich now...cos i will be the one who invented micrsoft and apple computers!
