national day.

well..it came and went. this year national day was a very special year for me.....

its simply because for the first time in 40 years..... i did not even bother to catch the parade on TV!!!

why?

its not because it will be repeated again on TV..... and i can catch it then...

i am not saying it not a good show, but i am sick of trying to get tickets to see the parade live..... i have not been to a real national day parade before, though i have tried so many times to get hold of tickets. i have no intention of getting the ticket over the internet because its total blackmail... you get it for free and you sell it for more than $100.....

that does not mean i am not a patriotic singaporean. i dont have to be at the stadium or in front of the TV to be singaporean.
i dont know how many people there are really into the NATIONAL DAY.....

maybe its the freebees...maybe its just another outing for some...maybe its the party after the parade or maybe its the fireworks...

maybe we should educate the people..especially during the pre-independence days..... how we as a nation struggle.... perservered.... to survive and succeed, maybe then the younger singaporeans will be more appreciative of what we have achieve since 1965....

next year.....i dont know..... maybe i will skip it again...... cos i will not be able get tickets to watch the parade.... even though there will not be a national stadium anymore next year....

oh well...happy 41st birthday singapore..... from the botom of my heart....
