i was attending a triduum last week. it was given by a very very popular priest, father gino (ya man...some say his name is damm cool). this triduum is in preparation for the coming of the Lent season. its an important event in the catholic calendar. in fact its bigger than Christmas. its is about the death of Jesus and his Resurrection.
anyways, he is a cool priest, about 75 years in age, very dynamic! very humble.
if he celebrate mass....confirm the church will be packed. and when he do a healing mass.... wah lau....seow liao ..... many will come for his healing, yes even non catholics!!! such is his power and his popularity. or should i say such is the power of the Eucharist. and the power of the ONE.....
so anyways this was a triduum and healing mass.... so as usual the church was packed.
but i think many people have the wrong impression about a healing mass..... yes he can heal people of physical pain or diseases. but more important, i think healing of emotion is also one important aspect in the tridumm. we have to reconcile ourselves with Jesus, with our families, relatives and friends.
we need to learn to forgive one another, yes even your enemies, your much hatred boss, back stabbing colleagues, friend who say things that hurts you, families that don't like one another because of the faith then believes in, misunderstandings, mistrust etc etc....
then he said something that have kept me thinking... we have all becomes beggars.
we ask Jesus for everything. strike TOTO, good job, high pay, big house, big cars, good academic results, physical healing, relationships, marriage and many many more..... like beggars, begging God to please give me this..... then maybe i will do this in return for you Jesus..... yap the word is MAYBE.
but have we listen to what God wants us to do? help those in need. the old, the orphaned, the poor. did we? nope. we only beg for favors, like beggars in the streets.
do at least one good deed this lentern season, even if you are not a catholic. spread peace and love for humankind. make this horrible world a better place. heal the world, make it a better place. one good deed leads to another. god bless
another useless thought
