"tong tong chang!"... "tong tong chang!"...."tong tong chang tong chang tong chang".... and so the music goes......

yes...chinese new year is round the corner....china town is all dressed up to welcome thee year of the hoink hoink......i think its the golden pig..if not fire pig.... but its the year of the PIG!!! the smell of bak kua..... pineapple tarts..... chinese saugages.... sweets...... goodies...oh and human persperation.....YUCKS!

everyone is gearing up for the festival, a big occassion here in singapore. even if you are not rich...some how you will go find the money to at least buy something so soak in the air of the festivity.......

everyone is following the trend of what the government is doing during this festive season. we sillyporeans....we always take the lead from the government....

yes...GST will be up 2%.... ERP up 50cents.... parking charges is also going up...... housing rental...condos......falts...everything is going up......BUT not you pay or bonus (if you have one to begin with)

so price of everything is going up... a piece of pork (about 500g) cos about $7!!! vegtables...what use to cost $1 is now $1.50... its simply horrendance!!!

and so the neighbourhood barber also follow the trend. he upped his price for the season.....$2 more to be exact..... and i am NOT at all happy with, cos with each passing year i get lesser and lesser hair..but i pay MORE and MORE to have it cut.....

I once asked if i can get a 50% discount since he dont have too much to do with my growning glory...... its about 50% less than what it used to be you know.....

as he was cutting what was left on my head...i started to look at a piece of A4 paper stuck on the mirror.... : "we charge $10 for chinese new year starting from XXX- XXX 07".... color and nice poster......

my mind drifted to the $2 extra i have to pay for my hair cut......

then my question is....why can't the advertising industry up their price, for all work done that are directly or indirectly related to all festive seasons? i think its more than justified. client charge consumer more for product and services.....so we should too...why do we ned to work doubly hard for the same price but the client gets to earn more without much effort?

i think we can and we should....maybe i should start the bald...i mean ball rolling..... up 10% one month before the start of a festive season....

may all good fortunes befall all who read this blog....... the lucky number is 1588

gong xi fa chai!!! best of luck for the year of the suckling pig!!

another useless thought
