i am so upset with Philips.... yap the electronic giant. i brought my new hi-fi set in for repairs and its been more than 6 weeks.....all they can tell me is they are ordering the parts...... so i have decided to write in to 'feedback' to them about thei bad bad service level.
so here goes....
To the person in charge,
I am not sure if this it the right channel for feedback, but this is the only channel I can find to express my unhappiness.
Sometime in december 2006, I got a Philips hi-fi set for my mum's 60th birthday. It was a happy occasion.
However after about a month, the set starts to have problems. first it was the "hissing" sound coming out from the speaker, then, it cannot read any disc when we insert it into the CD slot.
I then sent the set for repair. To date, it's been more than more than a month ( I send it in on 5 Feb 07), and still when i call, i am told that they are ordering the parts. When i ask them why no one call to inform me, they said they did, but in reality, i did not receive any calls. I am really not very happy with the level of service with regards to your repairs.
so my question is: Why did they not try to get me again? Why is the repair taking so long? Is it a standard practice to wait for more than a month for product repairs? I don't think it is fair to us as consumers if the product we got from philips becomes faulty after just a few weeks and then the repair takes even longer to have it repaired. If it takes so long, then shouldn't the company think of other alternative?
The last time when I set my Philips fan in for repairs, i am told Philips don't repair fans and I have to exchange for some other products, and it being a fan, i can only exchange for an iron or if i top up with cash, i can get other stuff. So how many irons do I need at home if every time I buy a fan and it becomes faulty?
I am not sure if this is the acceptable service level for Philips, all I know is that this is the last time I am getting any more products from Philips. I am not even sure if after the repairs, how long will it last before it breakdown again, and I have to send it in for repairs, and how long I have to wait for it again.
So now, a happy occasion have become a not so happy thing, as my mum keep asking me why it is taking so long for it to be repaired, and she is getting very irritated.
Try explaining it to a 60 year old lady.
