i cannot believe it when i read BBC online yesterday....
the headline reads "Vatican pressured to canonised Pope John Paul"
can you really put pressure to make someone a saint?? more important, is is correct?
i am a catholic, and i must say i am a little ashamed of this. sainthood is not something we pressured some people in the faith to make it happen. it is really God's will, and in His time.
anyway, who are we, mere mortals to make someone a saint?
we are all saints, we are all messenger of God and more importantly, we are pure breed sinners too......
i do admire Pope John Paul. i think he did a lot for the world and the people. even though he was suffering physically, he continued to do God's work, a very very faithful servant of God. but i am too far away from the Vatican to be feel anything for the pope...really. he is a leader of his flock many many miles away from me. so i may be a little selfish when i say i don't really feel much for the Pope
i really think this time we are carrying it too far. we forget who God is, God is more important than who should and should not be saints.
today, saint have become more important? have we become idol worshippers like the Israelites when moses led them out of slavery?
let us all worship God with all our hearts and all of soul. be his humble and faithful servant. saint or no saint, that's really no important at all. don't pressure the Vatican to do something they are not suppose to do.
its not a useless thought...
think about it.
