the beijing 2008 olympics, a world event, spectacular.

a dream for many sportsmen and women. for some, it comes only once in a lifetime.

i don't like the hypocrites in politics, the self righteous people, human rights whatever you want to call them... boycotting a SPORTS EVENT.

what about the sports people who gave their all for a 4 year once event, their sacrifices... is it not a human rights violation?

sports and the olympics is not like politics. in politics you throw everything at your opponents to make them look bad, you dig their past, hit below the belt to gain votes and will do anything to win. in politics, you can do it till you are 80 years old. you lose this round, you have can have another go.

in sports, there is a shelf live for these sports people. they compete fairly, cheaters are penalised. some may never get a second chance if they lose, cos of their age...even at 25 or 28, they maybe too old to compete anymore.

why mix politics with the evils of politics? i personally think its just for their own political gain and nothing else. imagine france is the one hosting the olympics and china threatens to boycott the event. would they world make noise, they are already discriminating, just because its china.

maybe the west just cannot accept the fact that china is a big country.. that includes tibet, mongolia, taiwan, hong kong. military threat?

i think its just a child fantasy of the west about military strength! their love for war and military might does not equate the chinese also love war. i means who are the the ones who started the nuclear arms race?

human rights in tibet...what about africa... north korea... cuba... america...yes america the land of the free and democracy... please go fight your human rights there first before you boycott something that have nothing to do with politics.

if america is free and democratic, the blacks and hispanic would have a good life there.

in britian, the asians migrates there would have a better lives instead of been threaten with racial discrimination.

so please let sports be sports and politics be politics.

another useless thought
