"Raising wages to address rising costs not a right solution"

SINGAPORE: Raising wages to address the issue of rising costs may be an enticing option but that is not the right solution, said Acting Manpower Minister Gan Kim Yong.

i don't think i want to read further. i was so damm angry..... its a waste of time reading it.....

what kind of minister is that?

every single thing form basic food to petrol to housing... MINISTERS PAY...everything in this land is on the rise and he tell us to look at the bigger picture.

what is the bigger picture? if i have no money to buy basic food...my BIG picture is MY NEXT MEAL.... NOT what is going to happen to the land.

maybe he should lead by example and take a 90% pay cut (maybe all minister take a paycut)and live with that and let him tell us that that is enough for survival....note that i say survival...NOT living!

why didn't he decline his pay increment...and tell his boss that he looks at a bigger picture? big pay increment does not equate efficiency.....

i don't need to mention who..... but he let one got away..... and still not found.

come on..mr million dollar man.... open your eyes and see.... in the real world...there are real poor people.... hunger children.....

if the government is not doing anything to reduce the cost of living except to tell us to buy house brand.... what is so wrong with salary increment? is it because we are not allow to be rich or to have a bit more money in our pockets...and not eat house brand?

maybe thats the mentality of a 4As? i don't know???

i am totally pissed off.... i cannot imagine a minster of his level will say such a thing.... by the way...who is he to tell my boss i don't deserve a pay increment?

whats the point of ranting? look at the bigger picture in 2- 3 years time...let your vote do the talking.....
