responsibility or not?

the other day, we were driving to church when suddenly something came into my mind and i asked my wife...

why is it that as parents, they will go to length to take care of their babies... change diapers....feed them, bath them and when they are sick look after them and everything..... unlimited and undying love and care....

then when the child grows up... and the parents aged...it becomes a chore to look after the parents... why?? it becomes a burden to the child, medical expenses.... time and all....

wife shot back.... 'because it was not their choice'...
'the parent choose to have kids, but the kids did not choose the parents....'

*silence*

then she went on... the parents choose to have kids and start a family. so it a choice that they made to look after them no matter what. so whatever the kids need, they will provide. they will spend time, money and energy on their kids, they will never find them a burden, love unlimited.

turn it around, the kids, it was not their choice to be born in this world, what more looking after them when they are old.

cruel? selfish thinking? i think so, but is so damm true, and that is the reason, i think when so many old people are neglected and left to fend for themselves. the kids don't feel that they have the obligation to look after them cos it was not their choice, they are force to this situation.

education will really play a big part, what you sow is what you reap. if a parent show their kids how they treat their parents, they in turn will follow.... this can be either a vicious hate circle or very loving circle....

i really cannot help but to think how true and cruel this world really is. human are basically selfish, they will take all that is beneficial to them. whatever that is not, reject them.... even if its family. that is real and that is a fact.

those who read this, have a deeper thought on this... whether by choice or not, love your parents as they have love you. you have a choice.... choose the correct one.

may God bless you all.

another useless thought
