thailand is know as the land of a thousand smiles.... the people there are friendly and nice.
i agree. i was there many yeas back, in the early 90s.

then i wander what had happened to the land of a thousand smiles? of late, thailand have become a much feared place to go to. i am not sure if its because of the bad press they have been receiving.....

in my church, there are some thai brothers, they are studying to be a priest someday. to say that they are nice is an understatement. they are so nice and friendly... hardly any temper and always smiling...... even to strangers....as in those who walk into the church to visit, to beg for money or even other parishioners coming here for Mass.

the other day, i saw a picture of the protesters in thailand, there was this man, wielding a sword.... those you see in chinese period serial drama.... his face was so scary.... like wanting to kill someone with that sword.... it was full of hate and anger....very very frightening....

thailand today is coup after coup....this present leadership come about with a protest in an earlier protest just like the one they are having now. it was hail as new beginning then.....and now this.... when will it end?

so what is the right government for thailand? i don't think anyone knows for sure, not even the experts in thai politics. everyone is corrupt, greedy and power hungry...

sad to say, this is not unique to just thailand... its the same everywhere.... in indonesia, in malaysia, vietnam....china...america...every where...

but the picture i saw on the papers says in all..... POWER, GREED, MONEY and CORRUPTION and SEX....that is politics.
