i suppose china is getting what it had sowed.

i am talking about cheap goods, food products and everything fake...... and even cars!!! now that the world is facing a financial meltdown, people are not spending anymore... many factories in china are facing problems as orders are just not coming in and in time to come, many of these chinese workers will be jobless, and they are already complaining..... factories are facing the prospect of closing down and winding up their business. maybe it is already happening.

so what have they sowed?

fake stuff, toxin toys and toxic food aside, i am talking about cheap labour....or should i say super cheap labour that drives price down and profits to almost zero.....

everyone flocked to china many years ago, because they offer prices that no sound businessman would forgo. production cost is rock bottom. and to make matter worst, all the chinese companies are fighting with each other and kept lowering their prices. if some one can produce a toy for 20 cents....another would come in to do it at 10 cents. in turn , they will have cheat and substitute it with cheaper and toxic materials to increase production.... and with luxury good also going to china for production, there are even more fake good in the market, expecially in china. LV bags are dirt cheap there..... people are snapping it up an selling it at sky high price back home.

so now, consumer all over the world are not buying made in china, businessmen are pulling out business in china..... and the chinese are complaining...... and they have a very bad reputation.

whats there to complain? did they not do it to themselves?

greed and power caused all these to happen. and i suspect the chinese people and government are not concern about it at all.... looking at the way they are dealing with the tainted milk scandal. children are still sick... and its been a month since...... only a few are arrested in this huge scandal!!! its simply scandalous to me.

we all have a thing or two to learn from this..... undercutting is not the way to do business. how much can you cut? and thats the million dollar question. when you cut prices, something MUST give way...its either materials or workmanship or both....

taking pride in our work is important. you can say i am dreaming, a perfectionist..... but look at china as an example. cheap work equals SHITwork...... it will back fire. for them it have already back fired.

i am not sure if china is learning their lesson... they may think that they are big and an emerging market..... well good luck to them, if they don't want to take a lesson from this sorry episode.

its the same here. suppliers are undercutting each other and bring product and services price lower that profitable. cleints are undercutting and taking advantages of this. consumers are the one sufferring. it makes life harder for everyone. the pie is only that big.... no maatter how you cut it, its the smme small pie.... i wonder when will we learn......
