now that the burnt MP is recovering..... there are fundamental questions we need to ask ourselves....
why did the man do it?
what kind of mp's are we voting for?
what is the meaning in terms of the well being of the country?
are there more than what meets the eye? or was it just a simple game plan by the man who set his mp on fire?
there are a lot more desperate people today. jobs are on the line, people are being retrenched or are expected be retrenched after chinese new year. jobs are scares, living cost are on the upward trend, the miw's are not giving or helping the people much except to give millions and millions to failed institutions and bad investments, and better still they are not even telling us what went wrong.
from this incident, we asked ourselves what kind of mp's are we voting for? first, the wage disparity between the miw and the man on the street is so huge i don't think the miw know exactly what is happening in the real world.... you think he knows what a saving of 10cents to use your own plastic bag means? does the man on the street sends his whole family to a famous cooking school to learn how to cook french food as vacation treat during such bad times?? does the miw knows what is it like to squeeze in the train or buses every morning just to get to work? do they know food and basic necessities are getting more and more expensive?
they can go on to harp on 90% of the people own homes.... but the fact is there are poor people and they don't have a roof over their head. they can say they are helping the poor.... but the fact is its NOT enough. they can say we come first...but the fact is, when you throw a stone on the street, there is a very high chance that it will hit a chinese national who are taking our jobs, our place in school, our bursaries and our identity.
i don't see my mp coming round my estate (in fact, i have never seen him or her since i move in to this place) ... maybe except during erection time..... and during erection, they will send their assistant to come to my house first...ask for my name and scribble it on a piece of paper..... and pass it to the mp.... then when he comes he will say "mr beagle...i am mpXXX please vote for me" just to make it personal. you can almost feel the temperature of minus 100 degrees when they do this......
i think...do i want to vote for him? er... i don't have a choice... there are no oppositions.
this incident will not be the first or the last.... and now i think the people will suffer.
1. we are again complacent.... we never help ensure the safety of the mp (like how WE the citizen let the cripple man escape)
2. we now may have to pay more tax, gst, erp and what not so that they can hire an huge entourage of body guards for these mp's
3. there are one more reasons to UP the salary cos it is now a job hazard, cos lives are at stake. ya the mp now "risk" their lives to help us!!!
4. NO MORE goodies for us any more as a form of punishment...yes this coming budget thing will have nothing much for us... especially those staying in yck!
so the burning question is: are there more than what meets the eye? or was it just a simple game plan?
it could be the beginning of what will be more to come. it just says that there are already very desperate people out there. there may not be another fire starter... people may turn to crime to steal. crime rate could rise because we need to feed the family. desperate people may kill themselves and their families so as to end all sufferings..... and this could be the start of a downward trend for this little red dot.
what's your BURNING thoughts? FIRE it away and question your mp when he does come around to your place.... and hope he can save his own skin answering your questions
when they come to my house, i will ask them "why do i want to vote for you?" and let them tell me.... i am sure they will have NOTHING to say.
another useless thought
